The grown-ups' settings

How do I get past the grown-up gate?

Tap the gear in the bottom corner of the home screen. The gate shows three numbers written as words, for example "Tap five, then two, then nine". Tap them in that order on the keypad within ten seconds. A wrong tap or running out of time just starts a new round. The gate locks again whenever the settings close or the app goes to the background, because the device may be back in little hands.

How do I turn the sound off?

In the settings, switch off Sound effects for a silent game. Sounds also follow the Ring/Silent switch (or the Silent mode setting) and the device volume.

The pictures are too hard (or too easy).

In the settings, change Difficulty. With Adjust automatically on, the game quietly picks the easier set after two tricky pictures in a row. It never makes things harder on its own.

Can I change the language?

The settings and the guide's short lines follow the device's language. You can pick a different one in the settings. Play itself needs no reading.

How do we start a world again?

In the settings, use Start over for one world or for all of them. It clears suns and friends on this device. Purchases and settings stay.

Purchases

What's free, and what does the rest cost?

Farm and Meadow are free, with 24 pictures each. Dinosaurs, Trucks, Fairy Garden, Zoo, Seaside and Space are $1.99 each, or $4.99 together with All Worlds, which also includes every world we add later. Each is a one-time purchase: no subscription, no ads. (US prices; the App Store shows the price for your country.)

We bought a world, but it's locked (new device, reinstall).

Open the settings and tap Restore Purchases. It's also on the purchase screen. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase, and that it's online.

We bought a world on one device. Does it work on the others?

Yes. Purchases belong to your Apple Account, so they work on every iPhone and iPad signed in to it, and you never pay twice. On the other device, open the settings and tap Restore Purchases if the world is still locked. Suns and friends are saved on each device separately, so each device keeps its own progress.

Does Family Sharing work?

Yes. Worlds bought by anyone in your Family Sharing group unlock on the other family members' devices too. If one doesn't show up, tap Restore Purchases on that device. Family Sharing needs to be set up in iOS Settings, with purchase sharing turned on.

It says "Waiting for approval".

Ask to Buy is on for this child's Apple Account. The family organizer gets a request on their own device. As soon as it's approved, the world unlocks by itself. If it's declined, nothing is charged.

Buying isn't allowed on this device.

In-app purchases are switched off in Screen Time. A grown-up can change that in Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → iTunes & App Store Purchases → In-app Purchases.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.

Devices and everything else

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later, in portrait and landscape.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The whole game plays offline. Only buying or restoring a world needs a connection.

What ages is it for?

Toddlers and preschoolers, ages 3 to 5. Pampo is in the App Store's Kids category for children 5 and under.

Found a bug, or have an idea?

We'd love to hear it. Email hello@boring-apps.dev with your device, iOS version and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
