Wavelet: Contraction Timer

A calm, honest contraction timer. Tap the big button when a contraction starts, tap again when it ends. Wavelet shows how long each one lasted, the gap between them, and the average for the last hour.

Free to download. The timer, the log and sharing as text are free, for good.

Wavelet on iPhone: a contraction running for 8 seconds, the last-hour stats and a big red Stop button.

How it works

One button. The numbers you need.

Built for the middle of the night, when you have one free hand and no patience for menus.

Wavelet in night mode: red numbers and a red Stop button on a black screen.

Night mode

Red on black, at 3 a.m.

  • Easy on tired eyes

One tap turns the whole app red on black, so checking the timer doesn't wake you up more than it has to.

  • From the Lock Screen

The Live Activity shows the running contraction on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Start and stop without unlocking.

  • No surprises

No ads and no upsells while you time: the purchase screen opens only when you tap Export PDF or the pack in Settings. Notifications are local and few: "Still timing?" if you forget to stop, and an optional notice when your rule's pattern is met.

A session's details in Wavelet: Share as text, Export PDF and a timeline of the last hour.

Private

Your log stays on your iPhone.

  • Nothing leaves the phone

No account, no servers, no iCloud sync, no Health app access. Your contractions are saved only on your iPhone.

  • No ads, no tracking

No analytics and no third-party code of any kind. The App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected", and it means it. Privacy policy

  • You decide what to share

Your log leaves the phone only when you share it yourself, as text or as a PDF.

Not medical advice

A timer, not a doctor.

This app is a timer and log. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. Contractions can be unpredictable: follow your doctor or midwife, and call them or your emergency number if you are worried.

The same text is in the app at the start, in Settings, and on every export.

Questions

FAQ

What is free, and what costs money?

The timer, the list, the stats, editing and undo, the rule card, night mode, the Live Activity, your history and sharing as text are free, with no time limit and no ads. The Labor & Newborn Pack is a one-time purchase ($5.99 in the US) that adds PDF export. There is no subscription.

Does Wavelet tell me when to go to the hospital?

No. You choose the rule your midwife or doctor gave you, for example 5-1-1, and Wavelet shows whether your contractions match that pattern, as a fact. It never tells you what to do. Follow your provider, and call them or your emergency number if you are worried.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your iPhone. There is no account, no server and no iCloud sync. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, the backup can include your log, like other app data. The privacy policy has the details.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Everything works offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore the pack.

I tapped too late. Can I fix it?

Yes. Tap the start time to change it, edit the start or end of any contraction in the list, or undo the last tap. You can also add a contraction you forgot to time.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
